They face violence, harassment, and injury—all for a resource that should be a basic human right . The consequences are deadly. Over 60,000 cholera cases have been reported, spread through contaminated water. Over 70% of health facilities lack clean water for medical purposes . CARE Sudan has worked in the country since 1979, delivering sustainable water solutions to communities cut off from safe water .
